Basketball All Night

That’s right, today, January 2nd of this young 2009 brings every team to the court, after having the day off for New Year’s yesterday. There’s plenty of uneven match-ups and a portion of what should be great games to watch. Blessed are those with the NBA League Pass. Here’s my snappy predictions towards the games.

Miami (17-13) v. Orlando (25-7)

Not a bad setting. Orlando’s been a rough team to come across lately, the kicks of Jameer Nelson and Rashard Lewis have ripped open this team’s offense. Magic take this one by more than seven. Orlando wins.

Houston (21-12) v. Toronto (12-20)

Rockets surpass this struggling Raptors bunch. Houston wins.

Washington (6-24) v. Boston (28-5)

The almighty are finally showing signs of slippage. Bad timing for the Wizards to come to Boston. A clearly frustrated and anxious set of Celtics will annihilate the Wizards by more than twelve. Boston wins.

Chicago (14-18) v. Cleveland (26-5)

Everything is going flawless for Cleveland. Rose and Chicago are expecting to ruin they’re fun? Not a chance. Cavs are 16-0 at home, they won’t give the Bulls a chance to touch that. Cleveland wins.

Atlanta (21-10) v. New Jersey (15-17)

This should be a good one if the Nets show up. Still, I have Atlanta taking this in a close game. Atlanta wins.

Indiana (10-21) v. New York (12-18)

Semi-good game here too if you look hard into the match-ups. New York comes forth as a much more stronger team here though. New York wins.

Sacramento (8-24) v. Detroit (19-11)

No chance in Sac-Town. Detroit wins.

Golden State (10-24) v. Minnesota (6-25)

The Warriors just lost to OKC, can anyone name their current starting line-up? Didn’t think so. Still, it’s Minnesota they’re facing. This one’s a blind throw. Minnesota wins.

Denver (21-12) v. Oklahoma City (4-29)

Westbrook’s rookie stats, 13.7 ppg., 4.5 apg., 1.6 spg. “J.R. Smith for three.” Denver wins.

San Antonio (20-11) v. Memphis (10-22)

Vets work quietly. San Antonio wins.

Philadelphia (13-18) v. Dallas (19-12)

Iggy had 28pts, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals in his last game. Andre Miller is due to be traded, watch it. Nowitzki is having a great season. The Mavs rallied somehow turned around a 29-point lead held by the Wolves last game. Dallas wins.

Charlotte (11-21) v. Milwaukee (15-18)

The Bucks have been humbly playing well as of late, winning 5 out of their last seven. They have beaten the Bobcats five times in a row. Milwaukee wins.

LA Clippers (8-23) v. Phoenix (18-12)

Upset alert, nah kidding. Phoenix wins.

New Orleans (19-9) v. Portland (20-12)

Brandon Roy might not suit up for this one with that hamstring injury. Regardless, LaMarcus Aldridge is having stellar season (16.5 ppg. 7.5 rpg.) Paul, West and Peja work this win. New Orleans wins.

Utah (19-14) v. LA Lakers (25-5)

Bittersweet for Utah. Deron is obviously back. 27 points in his last game. Boozer leads this team in a lot of aspects, but he’s due to have knee surgery. Los Angeles wins.
