Uniform Watch: Oklahoma City Thunder

I’m extremely late on slapping these on the site but here it is, the new looks for what was the SuperSonics. The Oklahoma City Thunder finally got an image with these, while avoiding the disturbing possibilities. The uniform’s color scheme have a powerful caribbean feel to them, with the tangy orange surrounding the light blue. The jerseys look organized and fresh in many levels. Some may not like, but these threads aren’t bad for a start.

Uniform Watch: Toronto Raptors

The Raptors released their new alternate jerseys recently and they’re expected to replace the previous red  ones they had last season. The new uniforms aren’t extremely eye-opening, hence they have that Miami feel to them. Still, it’s Toronto and the black color has a strong feel to it, kinda like they’re new front court. Toronto’s current jersey style fit perfectly with the era the league is in, with all these teams coming out with new looks, the Raptors did just enough with this update.

Uniform Watch: Orlando Magic

The pinstripes are back, and not only in in New Orleans. The Orlando Magic unveiled their 20th anniversary jerseys today and they didn’t disappoint. The new threads still hold that modern feel, as the pinstripes from their successful days in the 90’s are back. Dwight’s rough resemblance to the young Shaquille O’Neal gives Orlando fans a refreshing feel. The stats and superiority are nearly there, and now the threads are there for sure. The new Magic Jerseys drift away from their previous one’s barely, but definitely have their distinct difference in the end.

Uniform Watch: New Orleans Hornets

I’ve been waiting a while to get my eyes on these. New Orleans is finally an elite team in the NBA and to help solidify their change, the new threads for the upcoming season provide their deserved distinction. The new Hornets uniforms bring back the pinstripes that the franchise used to sport back when they played in Charlotte. Truthfully, ignoring the stripes, these uni’s don’t flare any difference to what the Hornets franchise has offered when talking apparel. The threads have their fresh feel of course, but everyone will soon forget the fact that New Orleans is wearing anything different than previous years. This isn’t a fashion contest, the franchise did their part to bring back their uniqueness while remaining current.

Uniform Watch: Sacramento Kings

Here’s the latest one I could dig out from the internet, the new threads from Sacramento. The King’s new jerseys are more like a facelift, giving the old purple more of a flavor. While the previous away jerseys for the Kings read “Sacramento” on the front, the new touch for the Kings has the team nickname on the front instead. The black falls hard on the purple and the colors are heavy. Though it isn’t much of a change nor a huge noticable upgrade, the new Kings jersey offers positive simplicity that should last for a healthy set of years.

Uniform Watch: Minnesota T’Wolves

Minnesota unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming 2008-2009 season in photo shoot for their rookie, Kevin Love. The jersey, like many of the latest ones, has a sleek look to it. The aspect of it that raises eyebrows is the unavoidable thought that this uniform belongs in a WNBA locker room instead. The definite focus on the jersey’s slimness has been put into complete effect, giving it a more of a typical tanktop look with a bunch of spice. The amount of feminess in this uniform is hard to avoid, especially with the way it’s being portrayed in this pictured by Love. This problem can hopefully be fixed with players such as Al Jefferson and Craig Smith slipping into these suckers and giving this trainwreck a more vigorous look. Anyhow, the uniforms represent a new face to the franchise after the loss of Kevin Garnett. Luckily, these babies won’t be flashed too much this upcoming season with the look of Minnesota’s roster.
